Moses Lake Part 5

We were lucky enough to go to the fair while we were up in Moses Lake! YUM. The first thing that comes to mind about the fair is FOOD. Space burgers especially. I crave them when I am pregnant, and when I am not. Who am I kidding? I really crave them all the time. And funnel cakes, lemonade, corn dogs...anyway you get the picture. I went to the Demo derby with my Dad and little Sister. Ben's cousin James Baker and his wife Nicki were driving as well as one of my boys I taught in Sunday school when I lived in Moses Lake for a summer, Easton Baker. It was a great time and James was in the top three. the kids loved going with the Jones side and going on rides with cousin Clayton. The Ferris wheel was a huge hit since they all got to go with Grandpa by themselves.

Emma loved her Aunties dress from prom so she played dress up, picking out shoes and "doing" her hair. It was really fun.

Austin can be a messy eater. When we eat spaghetti/lasagna/or something tomato based we have him take his shirt off. He went a step farther and just took everything off. We joked about our streaker eater.
We made Austin's favorite cookies while up there, thanks to Grammie. The rest of the world refers to them as egg cookies, Austin likes to call them egg cookies. For the longest time I had no idea what he was talking about. Then one day we were at the store, he picked up a box and brought them to me. "See!? Egg cookies! They are soooo yummy.".

We went and ate with Aunt Debbie, Aunt Kaycee, Cousin Angela, her boyfriend, and her kids Preston and Ariel in Ephrata. It was fun, and Aunt Kaycee gave quarters to the kids for the arcade.

Grammie found a University of Washington cheer dress for Emma, but that wouldn't fly with Poppi who is a Washington State fan. So they got Austin a WSU shirt. We got pretty funny looks with these two in tow when we went bowling. We even got a the comment "you know those are rival teams, right?". Yes sir, we know, that is why it is comical. Sheesh. Cheyanne, Auntie Julia's friend came too.

We spent lots of time outside at Grammie and Poppies. We picked raspberries, played on the play set, helped Poppie fix the sprinkler for the pasture, jumped on the trampoline, helped Mommy mow the yard, and just played. We loved going, it was so much fun.

Moses Lake Part 4 (Reunion, Port Angeles, and Seattle)

Emma and I went to Port Angeles for my ten year class reunion and we drove and stayed with my good friend Ellie Leinart Leonard, who graduated the year before I did. It was an AWESOME visit. We went to First Street Haven for cinnamon rolls, shopping downtown, celebrating Ellie's Birthday, meeting up with my friend Amber Wheeler. It was pretty amazing to see everyone at my reunion. I actually started to cry, I am such a goober. I hadn't been back and seen anyone in PA for 10 years. My parents moved the day after I graduated and them my Grandma moved soon afterwards so I hadn't made it back. We also went to see our old neighbor and friend Margie Todd. Ginny (Ellie's Mom) made a tent out of peas, and the garden was stocked with berries and veggies. Emma loved going out and exploring (and eating lots of berries). Emma and Charlotte were close friends and Emma loved going on the ferry. It was really fun and special to spend time with just Emma. Then when we dropped off Ellie and Charlotte and went to spend the night with Aunt Brenda and Uncle Ron, and were surprised to see our cousin Danielle! Aunt Brenda made us a yummy breakfast, we visited, then we started on our way home to Moses Lake.

Moses Lake Part 3

The trampoline is very popular with Austin. He can go on it if he is by himself or with a limited number of people his size. We get concerned that it jostle his kidney since it is doesn't have the traditionally support spot in his body. He loves to do tricks and have everyone watch him.

Austin and Poppi had a fun time setting up dominoes and letting them fall. GG taught me how to make her pie crust recipe so I made a strawberry rhubarb pie (one of my favorites). I also made Poppa a raisin pie (his favorite) and it was the stinkiest, grossest pie ever. But he was so happy! So it was okay. And I guess it was really good and tasted great, so stinky and gross is good?!

Emma got a Rapunzel wig that we caught Poppi trying on, and Austin got a gun set (which he loved). It is fun to go to Grandma and Grandpas and get spoiled.

We went out to the Swindlers to swim, dive and go on the water slide. They have a pretty sweet set up. This time there were about a million flies that had come over from the dairy. They attacked us and our food every time we go out of the water. We figured out if we sat away from the food they weren't quiet as bad, so we sat on the edge of the yard where there was a cool breeze. Saxon and Surrey love to hang out with Austin and Emma. Emma liked to go down the slide but only when Grammie would slow her down while going on the slide and then have Poppi catch her at the bottom. Austin was a wild man of coarse. He would run tot he diving board, climb up, then run off. We would have to remind him to ask first and have someone come with him since we couldn't trust him to slow down enough. Also the slide ladder was kind of steep and we didn't want him to fall off and hit his head.
